Does anyone know if it would be possible to buy a intel extreme or ati 9400, take that out and put in a nice 7800 GTX?

Ummm, I think you got that all mixed up. Please rephrase your question in the form of a question! =)

Makes perfect sense to me the question he's asking, he wants to kno if you can get the 9400 with an intel or 9400 in it and take them out and put a 7800GTX in

What does getting a 9400 in a 9400 mean?

I've seen the service manual of the 9400 and seems pretty possible...

I'd assum it's a typo, for x300.

_Belial was right, that was my question- and it's fairly hard to see how it could be misunderstood.

no offence but it looks like 'intel extreme' and 'ati 9400' are both videocards. If you read it like that then it can be misunderstood very easily.

NO to upgrading to a 7800GTX

If you get a 9400 with an Intel solution you are stuck.. No upgrades at all...

If you get a 9400 with Nvidia 7800... No to the 7800 gtx...

Unless you know have to make a new thermal solution that would fit, dont mind cutting on the chassis some, and can find a way to take the connector for the power button cable off the motherboard and rewiring it... If you manage to do all the and get the card in. Then hope there no changes to layout of the pci-e connector (If so then poof the magical smoke comes forth taking the card and possibly the mother board with it).

I would hate to let the smoke out.
