X31 battery: Charge Thresholds

Hi,

My X31's new generic "Yock" battery works great except the charge indicator (just below the LCD) rapidly blinks amber when it is on AC and at 100% for more than 30 minutes. If I remove the battery and reinstall it, it takes another 30 minutes until it blinks amber again (blinking amber is what it is supposed to do when it has a very low charge). It's very distracting.

I've tried (a) two new yock batteries, (b) recalibrating over and over, but nothing works. On my old T42 I could set the charge thresholds under "Battery Health" in the Battery MaxiMiser guage, so I thought I'd just stop it from charging to 100%. But the option isn't there on the X31. Is there a way of getting that option up there via IBM or 3rd party software? My IBM software, BIOS, Embedded Controler, etc., are all up to date.

Thanks,
Aris

I found that the Linux install allows for setting the charge thresholds, so I assume it can also be done in Windows XP. Any ideas?
