I was one who got suckered into the MJ-12. Some of the promises that were made was an additional battery life of 1 hour over the standard m5500i. This turned out to be pure BS.
When I complained to Alienware the best answer that I received arrived just this evening (from Adrian Vindas):
[quote]When the Area 51 m5500 was launched it came with a 6 cell battery, however later on a new 9 cell battery was released.
Of course battery life can be decreased depending on the type of usage and the hardware being used, for example a system used for gamming or watching movies will deplete its battery sooner that a system used for office work, and a system with an integrated video card will consume less power than a system with a discreet graphics adapter. We will pass along the information to our webmaster for him to perform the pertinent updates.[/
Great... so they are stating they made an error in advertising the MJ-12 was a leaner, meaner version of the standard m5500i that lasted 25% longer. Man, was I suckered!
