thats rediculous

What is key about this notebook is that screen. Take a look at the Samsung notebook TFT modules and you'll see what I mean. 10ms BtoB response, 72% (like a desktop) color gamut, 300nit brightness This means while only wsxga it is going to be one extremely nice (albeit heavy) monitor for the semi-mobile crowd. If that machine were by chance to be available in a dual core version along with the dual gpu/sli, I think it would be a hot ticket. Hopefully not literally

I wonder how heavy that laptop is.

Might want to check and see if the screen is airsoft proof first.

Sorry could not resist.

lol

that thing is 6.5kg or 14.3 lbs... and I thought my 8lbs laptop was heavy.

yep and how retarded have laptops to go? i mean a 17" is huge and heavy, now why dont i look out for a 30" to make sure i need a car to move it and the battery comes down from ups like (as on the 98xx models) to boot helper?

wasnt this supposed to be SLI with 2 nvidia cards?
yep it was - make my point a bit more!

A lot of people on this forum seem to be really anxious about two things - heat and weight. Personally I don't care how hot it gets as long as it runs and it doesn't burn me (and even my 9860 fully overclocked and running for 14 hours straight doesn't burn me). As for the size and weight - well obviously you’re going to struggle to fit a 19" laptop on an economy flight seat-back tray and the battery probably wouldn't even last a domestic trip, but that's not really what these are designed for. It's really a very compact desktop replacement that can be easily transported and used for short periods as a laptop if required (eg. typing up a few e-mails, browsing the web wirelessly or working on a quick Word/Excel document).

Even at 6.5Kg a 19” notebook weighs a lot less than my 18 month old baby girl who I can successfully sit on my lap and carry around with me over short distances without too much trouble (a little fidgeting aside). These devices are a bit like a 4WD in the city, you'd think people wouldn't be interested because they're big and bulky - but a lot of people like the power, the tall riding, the extra space and the big fat wheels of a 4x4, and a surprising number are willing to sacrifice a tight turning circle, ease of parking and lower cost, for those few extra features. So it is with desktop replacement notebooks.

People will really go for the SLI, the weight will become secondary after that!

The Eurocom 19" does have dual Nvidia Go7800GTX 256MB GPUs.

Very nicely put. Honestly, if 14 pounds is too draining on you, you might want to invest some of that money on a YMCA membership. I'm one of the skinniest bastards I know, and the weight has never really bothered me that much.

It looks like they droped the SLI. I don't see SLI anywhere in the specs. If they did I'll just get a 9750

It may be single 7800GTX but i think if you get dual it might be plain 7800s. Not positive on that though
