Awhile ago (in November), my sound stopped working. I posted here, DarthAcer responded, but it fixed itself. It happened a few times later but never lasted beyond a reboot, and now the problem has returned in full force. I'm getting no sound output on my TM 8104. Nothing. Nothing from the laptop speakers, nothing when I plug in external speakers, nothing on headphones. Nothing is muted and all the volume is turned up high. Something is inhibiting the sound output and I can't figure out what.
I did system restore, didn't work. Everything is correct in the control panel's sound and audio devices; my realtek card is showing no problems. I have installed the latest drivers from the realtek site. I even started in safe mode. Nothing has worked. Interestingly, when I try to play iTunes through speakers connected in the living room on Airport, it works. This makes me think it's a physical problem within the laptop itself. Anyone have any ideas? I really don't want to send this in. My laptop is working fine otherwise.
