you could get higher scores than that if you volt mod

I didn't volt mod and got 3086 with 374/909.

Hell, why volt when you can get that with just a simple program like coolbits and running the crap out of your fans. I don;t go above 83 under load.

Here is my first attempt. I defragged and rebooted and this is what I got, pretty close to the 3081 I got earlier.

Updated my post with a pictures. Still haven't broken the 3100 mark, just a little hesitant to take things any further as I am inexperienced and don't have the funds to replace a GPU!

3DMark06: 3120

Dell E1705 - 1.66 Duo - 512mb ddr2 533 - 100g5.4k - 7800 Go - 1.2v 400/900 - Xtreme-G 83.90

I am concerned that my fan does not come on. It had not come on ever, and I figured with a 1.2v bios mod, and the option 'fan always on' checked in the Control Applet, this fan would come on... it has not yet.

I'm thinking a might have a problem .

I get 3319 with 362/887 OC.

Specs are 1.83 core duo, 80 GB 7200 rpm, 7800 go (duh:P), 1 GB RAM

Wow, thats a good score. what drivers are you using? And do you leave your 9400 at those settings 24/7?
Just asking: when you post pics / specs, can you indicate if you are not running the test at 1280x1024? That's the default for 3DMark06, but I noticed when I first ran it on my WXGA (1440x900 native), it ran with a resolution of 1280x800. With that I got a mark in the 3300's (see my sig). I just want to make sure we are all comparing the same thing.

I only say this because Cookie092 and Meatpimp's scores seem awefully high for the typical OC's we all are running (and Cookie's screen capture is 1440x900).

Maybe we need another list or sub-list for those who can't run the test at default res?

all of us should be running the 'default' 3dmark06' settings, no changes needed to be done
post #58 of 278
Sure, I agree. Just saying that if your display doesn't support 1280x1024, then how can you run the benchmark at that res? Not everyone has the benefit of hooking up a higher res external monitor, and you generally get higher scores when the bm is run at 1280x800, so the comparison isn't apples-apples.

The 'default' is 1280x1024, unless your hardware doesn't support it, then it's 1280x854.

my .02

EDIT:

I disconnected my 2405FPW and ran the benchmark again on my laptop's WXGA (1440x900). You'll notice that the test automatically reduced the resolution to 1280x854. The Basic version of 3DMark06 will not let me change the resolution to anything else. I kept the OC the same (374/910), and my score is now 3389. Here's the proof:

It supports that resolution, it's just that it scales it to display it but for the video card it's pretty much the same
post #60 of 278
that 3315 score totally bugs me it way good, though looking at the individual scores y can explain the cpu score since i haven't fresh oinstalled the thing but it excels in the hdr/sm3.0 score almost a 100 more marks
