it is a shame that new i9400 e1705 owners won't be able to compete here or anywhere else, coz 7800 Go is not being offered no more

Geez, just downloaded 3DMark06 and did the test.
Very very dissapointing. I know, not the most OC but still, it's less then 1/3 of Andre and ohters

hmm, just did another test ... Much better ... and another test again

2934 lemke --------- 350/850 -- 83.90 | | Yonah 1.83/ 1GB 667/ 80GB 7.2k/ 7800 Go
3026 lemke --------- 362/887 -- 83.90 | | Yonah 1.83/ 1GB 667/ 80GB 7.2k/ 7800 Go

Think I will post it ;-)

but on remark, I choose 362/887 because of the similar config with Cookie092, only he has less memory.
Still a difference of almost 300. So what did he better then mine. Fresh install, lower resolution, ...

So I did the test again, but now with 1024x786 (and not the standard 1280x1024)
3718 lemke --------- 362/887 -- 83.90 | | Yonah 1.83/ 1GB 667/ 80GB 7.2k/ 7800 Go

Oh, no mod what so ever on this lappy, only OC through the drivers

Interesting.
Nevertheless, with a nice cooling mod, and a good working fan control software, you could stress this notebook quiet a lot.

Now lets interrogat Cookie092 ;-))

Interrogate me as much as you want
I have a new score for you (with proof of 1280 x 800 resolution)

I ran the test @ 365/885 mhz now. The drivers are XTremeMobile Force v83.60

You're on the right track. Cookie092's desktop screenshot in their post linked from the list is 1440x900 pixels, so I'd assume they have a WXGA+ LCD, compared to your WUXGA. When 3DMark06 can't run at the normal 1280x1024 due to a lack of vertical resolution, it switches to 1280x800, so I'd say that's what Cookie092 ran the benchmark at.

Edit: I really don't type that slow.. Honestly..
So Cookie, you just proved that your score isn't really valid since it's not being run at the same resolution as everyone else.... so it's not a fair comparison.

The only way for people with the non-ultra displays to be on the same field is to have an external monitor.... good times....
So...what resolution do you want me to run it at? Isn't 1280x800 standard in 3dmark06?

The standard resolution for 3DMark06 is 1280x1024. But since your LCD can't display that, it defaulted to 1280x800. You'd only get a valid/comparable score by using an external LCD/CRT that's capable of 1280x1024.
hmm, nice to know.
I just did the benchmark again,with 1280x800

It was even worse than my previous scores at 1280x1024 score (this is the standard Cookie), only got 28xx something. Dang.

Explain that!!

you got worse score with lower resolution? lol
post #71 of 278
Can't explain it. Only thing I did was remove Macfee and install ZoneAlarm Security Suite. Have the license ... and way better.

But I don't think that makes the difference.

i experienced the same issue with 3dmark05, i think it is best to run it under the default settings, the more you alter the less score you will get
post #74 of 278
Well, the lower score was due to the fact that my OC were back on 300/800. Don't ask my why.

And I use the default settings.
So I corrected my OC, back to 362/887 and
with 1280x1024 = 3036
with 1280x800 = 3358 which almost beats your best score. But who's counting for those last points ;-)

So that explains everything, Cookies score and mine.
Mysterie solved ;-))

And no, I didn't upload any pictures yet.

OK, I've updated my drivers and reran the test. My new score is 3191 at default 1280x1024, using Laptopvideo2go 84.20 drivers OC'd to 371/912:

OK sorry about that. I fixed it.

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=192366
I had to redo the test again to fix it. This time I only got 3731...

Same As above except OC to 473/960. Highest Temp 76 Degrees(C) per Nvidia..

Tried it again with a 1.3V mod, same specs but Core:490 Mem: 930. These 7800 turned out to be very overclockable, hopefully someone will break the 4K mark soon.
