Does i9400 TrueLife screen reflect too much?

I've been an i8100 user for four years, but am finally buying a new Inspiron.

I'm speccing up an i9400, but one thing I'm really not sure on is the screen. From looking at other modern widescreen laptops in PC stores, the glossy screens look as if they reflect way too much light.

Can any existing TrueLife shiny screen owners confirm/deny this? When you're working at your laptop, is there a lot of reflection on the screen?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes of course. My Acer have a normal display and i think its better to work. And when the sun shines, back from you can“t see anything on the display. But the display is very good, but it is to glossy..

Thanks for your reply znk0r.

My TV doesn't reflect much light, but from what I've seen of these new laptops with glossy screens, they are high gloss and more reflective looking than my TV.

But those were Sonys and HPs I was looking at.

I'm really just after a few opinions from a number of glossy screen owners.

I don't think it's too glossy at all. When the I'm working on it, all I see is the desktop or programs. No more glossy than a TV.

I hope it didnt sound like I was being an ass. My point is that to me it looks exactly like the surface of a CRT screen.

Same here, when the default XP screen saver displays I do notice the light leakage but, seriously it does not bother me one little bit.

The screen is absolutely amazing, though I don't really watch DVD's (i prefer using the screen real estate for development).

Dougie.
