Wireless questions

Hey everyone,
I plan on buying a wireless router in the near future, as my current wire setup is ed up. I have a Sentia m3200 with the intel 2200b/g wireless card. If I were to buy a router that supports 125Mbps wireless if I could connect up to that speed or if it would be useless, and I should just buy a similar, cheaper router that only supports 54Mbps.
The router I am currently looking at is the US Robotics Maxg USR5461

Please let me know if the 125Mbps would be noticable with my wireless card, and if any of you have experience with this router.
Thanks!

I don't have experience with that specific router.

I do however have an opinion on the different speeds. IMHO it's not worth it. Unless you're constantly moving big files or streaming VERY high quality media.

For instance: streaming VHS quality MPEG1 video is about 1Mb/s.

uh, wont work, limited to speed of card in ur laptop, u can go faster- but that means buying more (and more expensive) external hardware for your laptop, and imo not worth it. If transfering real big files ur gunna wanna connect a wire to it anyway as it will still blow the doors off the 125 wireless.....as far as anything done over the internet including dl'ing 11Mbps (B) never even gets close to topping out, and as I said when I need to transfer large amounts of data say 500+Mbs or more then I just plug into my wireless router with a wire neway.

I also found a wireless router i wanted, that was faster than 54, but my internal card was only 54, so i saved some money and got the slower wireless router. just compare your equipment, and make sure it all matches. i have had no problems with 54 wireless, and play games and watch videos without lag, but good luck, i love my wireless

Well I'll need a new wireless router no matter what, since I don't have one. I can connect to a neighbours network if I want to be mobile in my house, but me and my houesmates do a lot of data transfer amongst ourselves, and I can't do it anymore.
I've had 2 laptops with wireless, the previous one was with a linksys pcmcia card. The 2200 b/g card whoops its and I wouldn't really worry about replacing it until I need to. So first step is a router. I've heard great things about linksys routers, but the current batch of wrt54g's suck compared to previous versions, so I'm looking about buying a wrt54gL...
