Hm.. can u comment about the weight of this and the heat that it produces? I would think that amd 64 would do better than p4 or centrino, but from what you have said and from the benchmark, it doesn't look that way.

Thanks for the review. Add one more possibility to the short list. It's looking like the aOpen 1557 or emachine 6805 at this point. I was surprised that it's benching lower than a Pentium-M. It could be due to bottle necks or non-pro card. Oh well. They're in the ballpark. Real world experience is the best benchmark. Any experience with gaming or battery life?

eMachines 6805

weight 7.5 lbs. not too bad, cooling very good,I just played MaxPayne2 for about
an hour and the cooling systems works great cool air ,lots of hot out,the notebook itself stays cool, the the way a heat exchanger should work(I do natural gas processing and work with heat exchangers all the time) by the way the screen is 1280x800 and at that max payne plays great, also I have read that
the adm mobiles run at 800 most of the time this my explain the benches.

Maybe you need to disable the POWERNOW setting and have it setup as DESKTOP and then rerun the benchmark tests.

Isnt the Graphics card Shared in the eMachine? i think it is, but is there an option to get the 9600 128mb?

no it is not shared, set at desktop, sisoft reports 1.8gzh,but it benches a little lower in some a little higher in others, overall for 1400 it dose very well and in
apps like autocad (which I will test tomarrow) it may do better than intel we'll
see,but I happy and in games its great.

Bowk - can you figure out if the hard drive is a 7200rpm by any chance? (That would make it too good to be true though i guess...)
