ONE day to go!!!

Ever since I made it to the last phase I have been obsessively checking the fedex site for tracking info- Finally made it to Portland- Now all I need to do is wait around the house for 12 hrs-

I hope all is well w my lappy when it arrives- After I set it up I'll post some pics of it and the rig, etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope the blue looks as good in person

on the way- everything so far is working perfectly- norton is running, wireless works (obvious) not a single troubled pixel!! the fedex guy was totally jealous!! OMG I am so freakin excited- Impossible to get a homeostatic baseline.. I will post again shortly w the rest of my ramblings- the review will be worth it.

So far so good- All in all I am very happy with this machine- A beast it is! I have shown it to a few ppl and they immediately comment on its size. It will definitely take up some room on a desk, and will make an impression anywhere it goes... So far, I am completely happy w the noise level- It doesn't seem to get that hot (yet) I have played about 20 min of FEAR on the thing@1024x768 and am avg 70fps or so-- I haven't done anybenchmarks yet, but may consider it...

My issues are- the black plastic cover that is above the keyboard is not flush- you can see it in one or two of the posted pics... I was sad to see it, but it is a minor cosmetic detail- All the same, we get these computers for aesthetic appeal as well, and I think that plastic buckle really sucks- is it worth a month to wait for them to fix it? Hell no. Still!!

Also, the media card reader does not want to read my compact flash card- no biggie, cuz I can plug in the entire camera, but I will deal with that issue at a later date- I still haven't popped in a dvd yet, and will jump on that right now-

Other than that , AMAZING MACHINE- I can run as many programs at once as I like, pop loads of jpegs to Pshop, click all over the place, all without a hitch-

When I have more time Ill post some better photos- screenshots, whatever... If anyone has any info on media reader, let me know!!!

Hulioni- I'll work on accessing the bios- I'm a little touchy when it comes to something like that so I'll be talking to AW tech as I do it... Thanks very much for the heads up tho... As the day brings light I might just geek out and take more pics and add a benchmark or three... For all of those whose rigs ARE ONE DAY AWAY...!!! Theyre always one day away- That's why we check the freaking phases all the time... Keep your heads together, as when your alien arrives on your doorstep, your head might just pop off w the rush... I ordered Feb 17 or so....

So- To any and all--- It is highly recommended that you opt for the soundcard- I have just put all my music files onto the hd, and when running them trough itunes, I get skips ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! well, at least once per song... I am not sure what the problem is, but I'll be adding it to my short list of things to discuss w tech support.. Otherwise, it's 1100 on day 2, and all is well--- I've been busy as hell, so I'll be posting something more comprehensive this weekend...
