Ordered my new Sager 5680 today!

Thread Starter
Phew! So earlier I ordered my very own Sager 5680!! I happened upon these forums one day when a tech I worked with left his window open. After reading some of the posts, and seeing what Sager had to offer I was extremely impressed. Admittadly I haven't taken part in any threads yet (this is my first post) but you are all very knowledgable and I just can't ever seem to add anything! I'm hoping this changes in the future as I get my lappy and learn what it is to own a REAL MACHINE. This will come in so handy with class, gaming, and graphic design! Ok, so here is my sacrifice of nanners to the No-Dead-Pixel God!!

Thanks again for all the information provided here. Its amazing!

Soon to be owner of Sager 5680:

P42.6Ghz
1GB PC3200 DDR
15" UWXGA screen (1600x1200)
CDR/DVD
Radeon 9600pro 128mb
60GB 5400 drive
Second Battery
Wifi G internal card
and everything else I can't remember!

Juason - congrats on the 5680. I got mine a few days ago and love it. The only down side has been the internal WiFi, which I have found to be flakey. The internal Bluetooth works fine. The Intersil wifi is some what of a hot topic on these boards, so if you don't mind please let us know your results. The card worked for me the first night I had the laptop. The next day no matter what I did I could not get it to connect, until I reinstalled the drivers. After reistalling the drivers I could connect, but I couldn't hold a connection for more then a few minutes. Reinstalling the drivers also whiped out the Intersil configuration utility. I ended up disabling the card and using my Linksis PCMCIA. I've had no loss of connection with the Linksys card. I do however want an internal card, so at the advice of others on the forum I ordered the Netegriti EM-500. I'll post my results when I get the card. Others on the board have reported that there Intersil cards work fine, so you may not have any problems. But then there are some like myself who have run into trouble. I would have liked to trouble shoot the Intersil card but could not find any documentaion at all on it. Also there have been no driver updates on the card in a long time. Good liuck with the 5680 and the internal WiFi. If you have problems let us know, maybe by then we will have it figured out.

I'm selling my 5680 Right now, Due to switching to Mac, but would also consider trades to a 4780 (the boss's wife wants one!)

I've got it posted in the forsale section of the forums.

I just ordered my 5680 yesterday from TorquePC. They got my business because of all of the comprehensive reviews and comparisons. Anyone who takes the time to do that sort of thing really knows what they are doing and cares about the products they sell. Great work guys, thanks for making my decision easier!
