Video Decoder error after format

I just got my e1705 in and I love it. First thing I did, however, was format it. Now that Windows Media Center Edition is installed and so is the TV tuner, when I go to watch TV I get a decoder error that says I don't have a video decoder. Anybody have ideas on this?

Install PowerDVD. When you formatted, you got rid of your mpeg decoder.

Thanks, however, the computer didn't come with any cd for PowerDVD. I see on support.dell.com that there's a Sonic Media software until the applications. I thought that may contain the codec, but it is only an upgrade so it would not install.

The same thing happened to me yesterday after i reinstall windows, I couldn't play DVDs. I emailed Dell and they overnight the applications and utilities CDs to me (I just got them) so maybe you can try the same thing.

Thanks. I actually was able to use an old WinDVD cd from my previous laptop and that allowed it to work. I called Dell and the guy was an idiot and said I couldn't get the software from tech support. Is there any benefit from the decoder that comes with the software verses WinDVD?
