Does the stress test use the settings that you select in the "options" menu or does it run off a preselected graphics standard?
Also, I installed HL2 and CS:S from steam and ran a stress test with all settings to the max (I think you can only go up to AAx6 if I am correct) and then antiscropic at 16x and I got a FPS of 50. This was immediatley after the install of both programs and w/o defrag. I played the game at these settings and it ran beautifully.
After defrag this afternoon and diskcleanup/restart I will report the other FPS I get, should be a bit higher. Anyway, its great to know a 1.8ghz/1gig ram/7800go can run this game full out balls to the wall.
Just to check, the max AA we can run is 6x w/ a 7800go right(or is it 4x)?
EDIT: This was done on my 20.1 inc LCD at 1680x1050 resolution, just plugged my laptop into it.
