9400 LG vs 9300 Samsung (BIG pics)

I just sold my 9300 locally, so I thought I'd take some pictures to remember her. The 9300 is on the right with the black trim. It has a Samsung with very minimal light leakage. The 9400 on the left has an LG. Both are at max brightness.

Both LCD's off (notice a bit more glare on the 9400)

Black

White

pr0n (warmer colors on the Samsung)

They're both good. I was happy with my Samsung, and I'm happy with my new LG. The main reason I was excited when I initially got this LG is because I've had two earlier generations of LG's from Dell that looked like crap. I'm glad they finally got it fixed.

Well, I would've definately taken the 9300 screen and put it in your 9400. The pics show it being much easier on the eyes, color tones are truer to real life, and the lack of the extra "sheen" that the 9400 shows is nice.

Dellbert, happen to remember the Samsung Part # for the screen that was in your 9300???

K9975 MODULE, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 17WU, GLARE WIDE VIEWING ANGLE, SAMSUNG, 9300

(Dell changes part numbers for each new model.)

from the pictures, the only thing that look better on the LG is the black, but samsung seems overall better... from pictures

Yeah, Vida.

BTW, don't compare the blues in the task bars. The 9400 is running MCE, and that uses a different theme.

Sorry, I should've made that more clear. Do you have the Samsung Model Info off of the back of the actual LCD???
Well, my Samsung has much less leakage than on the so called "real Samsung", I guess it varies. That LG however loox exactly the same as the one on my LG laptop, which I already suspected but couldn’t confirm. in conclusion I much prefer the samsung, the colors look more alive and closer to my CRT, which btw, kicks both LCD's where the lightleakage wont shine.

I never did an LCD swap on that one, but I'm 99% certain it's an LTN170WU.

Is the K9975 similar to the K9922? If so, did you have to do color correction on your Samsung? I have the K9922 and whites seem kinda brownish.
