Suggestions for my laptop

I recently had my laptop stolen out of my car, and I have decided the best way to cheer myself up is to upgrade. I have been looking around, but have been unable to find a laptop that fits my bill perfectly. The one stolen was a 1.73Ghz Dell 9300 w/ a 6800 Go & 1Gig of ram. As such, the following are my base requirements for a replacement:

17" UXGA Screen, 1Gig of ram (2 if the price allows), 7200 RPM hdd, & GeForce 7800 Go or GTX . I would love a Core Duo, but would take an AMD 64 or X2. I would also love it to have a number pad. Budget is ~$2300.

The problem I am running into is this. I can purchase a Dell 9400 (E1705, same thing) with the following specs:
2Ghz Core Duo 667Mhz FSB
17" UXGA screen
2GB 667Mhz DDR2
60GB 7200 RPM hdd
256MB GeForce 7800 Go
9-cell battery
and other miscellaneous add-ons for $2,240 after coupons.

I loved my 9300, but would like to try another brand if the chance permits. It seems when I try to match the above specs by any another supplier; Sager, Hypersonic, HP, Acer, ect, that one of my requirements cannot be met, or the price is much, much higher than I am want to spend. I am willing to go $100 over my budget, but not reach for the $2700 like the 9750 requires. The Sager 5720 would fit the bill nicely, but it does not offer the Core Duo.

Please offer suggestions, I am at a stand still!

No suggestions?

Very difficult to beat the Dell for its price/performance/weight

You should go for it.

I was told by a Sager employee that they will be coming out with Core Duo models in 3 weeks, that is if you want to wait that long!

Were you abe to get any specifics? Will it basically be the 5720 with the core duo? If so, I will definitely be waiting!
