Seriously - give em hell!!

If you can find someone else who ordered same time as you, AND received their systems - it may help your case...

Ask around maybe there is a lawyer on the forums who is willing to represent your case in the consumer court...always better to have someone who knows what this is all about...

I think we all would. Considering he probably hears this on the official Aw forums quite often.
I couldn't believe it when I saw it... Knowing this is how I might be treated in my next purchase.

Hey ds613,

I'm going through the exact same routine you are now, except my options are a loaded Dell 8600 (yay docking stations) or a loaded Sager 4780. I was seriously considering the Voodoo's but the price is just a little too high in comparison to the Dell and Sager and the options aren't quite as flexible.

My issue is the same as yours, I've been in phase 8 for 3 weeks, and I keep getting told to call back in a week. As I explained earlier I was told last Wednesday it would go into production within 48 hours (end of Friday). I called yesterday at noon and they said it would go into production yesterday or today (Monday or Tuesday).

They told me the laptop would be produced within the next 7 business days then ship, so I'm still looking at 2 weeks to get a new one. Dell can get me one sooner, and I haven't ordered it yet. I have a corporate account. I told them I want it delivered within 7 business days, which gives them until next Thursday to have it delivered which is ample time, considering all my parts have been gathering dust in a box for the last 3 weeks.

On a competition note, I have a Dell Inspiron 600m sitting on the desk to my right (and an i8100 on my left), they new keyboards on the Dells are phenominal in comparison to the old ones, no more flexy cheap keyboards, they're solid, type really nicely and have the control key in the bottom left, not a fn key. :P

On a technology note, the Pentium M executes more commands per tick than a P4, on each up and down stroke, instead of just the up stroke. (Someone, please jump in here if I'm incorrect!) That effectively makes a 1.7GHz M the equivalent of a 3.4GHz P4. Obviously not quite, there will inevitably be a ramp up time as it increases and decreases the power to the processor to save energy, but in a game when the processor is already hot it should be very close.

I still don't understand Dell's memory pricing though, it's a $600CDN upgrade from 512M to 1024M, whereas voodoo and many others only charge $130US. But the overall price of the laptop seems quite competitive (actually, it seems to have dropped, and they're including a free 8x DVD writer now).

The sager seems nicely put together, but the screen res sucks (1440x900).

Hey, don't worry ds613. I ordered on 12/6 too, and mine just shipped and should arrive on 1/23. I know this thing is going to blow my mind, and i'm sure if you just hang in there for a little bit more, you'll be completely satisfied and glad you waited.

Your not going to hear a word from that jaun alienware guy. They just come to the forums were ever and talk "I'm your friend bah bah bah" The only thing I have seen him do is post links to his own damn help forums and never answers your question with a direct answer....-_- yeah we have a real loser her guys.

sorry for all the programs this guy is going through...and feel for him It was almost 60 days before I got my 8200 Dell so i know it can suck.

As I had mentioned before, I am an Admin for the Alienware Support Forums. I have to monitor my own forum, which I constantly d0 (except during lunch) We have others doing the same.

I search internet Forums looking to see where Alienware owners are asking questions or need help or people who are interested in Alienware. I have limited power to do anything outside my own Forums. The reasons I keep mentioning the support site for Alienware, is for our customers to know that it exists and that they can also find help there. We have many Alienware Tech Agents that know the machines inside and out and are willing to help.

And do not think that I am saying to leave this forum and never come back ... on the contrary... it is another excellent resource for all Alienware owners and Alienware prospects.

Come on, how many other companies do you see going beyond their own borders to help and advice those who are interested in Alienware.

Good morning guys... Well As I suspected. The Supervisors Supervisor (manager I think) Promised... again to call me and let me know if the system has or has not shiped. Yesterday... once again. I am still awaiting his return Call, Email, or Damn postcard for that matter. I really dont understand why it is so difficult to follow through with that. and give me some honest information

As far as JaunG is concerend ... Thank you. He did step in and give his two cents on the AW side that was more then I expected. Although he could only give me the same information I was reciving from the CS Dept. It was still nice for them to know that thier customers are not happy.

JaunG Stated "I can't promise anything, but it should ship out in a couple of days."
This is the same Information I have heard on the 11 13 16 and on the 19 from the CS except they were more specific and did promise.. that it would be "either today or tommorrow." 48 hours will be the latest. and I can give specific names I wrote them all down.

As far as my order is concered. I think I will be canceling If I dont hear back from AW CS today. Let me give you, yet another reason why.

DS: Hey CEO I ordered my System today it should take about 20 days to get here. This system according to all the reviews and the people I have talked to is well worth the price...Alienwares web site is up to date with information on the phases of production and they have great customer service and This System cannont be matched not even by your beloved DELL, hehe just kidding ( but I really wasnt ).

CEO: Fantastic we have some great Things going on and we look forward to sending you to California next month to meet with XXXXX and show them some presentations. Keep me posted...

DS: No I called Alienware and they assured me that it would ship out no later then 48 hours.

DS: No I called Alienware and they promised it would be shipped out today no later then tommorrow.

CEO: DS I need to send you to Cupertion Cal. for a presentation did you get your system yet.

DS: Um, not yet I am hopping it will be here soon I called AW and they promised....

Basicly not only is AW Customer Service Feeding me with false information But in turn they are making a lier out of Me.

So I Decided forget it. I called and talked to the Supervisors Supervisor

AW: Hello mr. DS613 your system shipped today... I dont have the Tracking number yet but I will get it to you End of day.

DS613: My EOD or your EOD?

AW: Mine sir

So that is 3:00 my time correct?

AW yes.

DS613: Why did you not return my Phone call, as promised?

AW: I was trying to get your system shipped sir.

DS613: We Agreed, You would Call me and give me the status of my Laptop, As you know I cannont get that information from the web site as it still, to this date states my system is in Phase 9. I now know why your CS department doesnt return Phones calls as promsied.. they are following example.

AW. I am sorry sir... I am certain that this product will make up for all of the difficulties you have sufferd. I will make sure I contact you today with that Tracking number information... do you want that Via email or Phone sir.

DS613: I want it Via Emal so I can post it to the forums for eveyone to see.

AW: Very well Sir Thank you for calling Alienware.

Lol...Damn DS I feel for you. I get free navy lawers so I hope that on feb 1st or 2nd when I order my alienware laptop I don't get dicked. but knowing me and the way things turn I can see it. If what your saying is true they need to pull there head out but as long as they get there $$$ there happy. I have my cell phone tap because I hold the CT rateing so I want them to start saying some BS like that.

True I have not seen other companys branch out like you are. But I can tell you what I do see. Company turning into car sell's men. Lets make a sale...200 point inspection? I am calling the BS flag on this. With all the problems people have been haveing...Hp just overall makeing crapy products. Dell with there plastic case I am on a Inspiron 8200 right now. Gateway and compaq *spelling* yeah I saw gateway crap at nasa they jacked that crap up and my dad was pissed. sony...heh nothing to say on them then you have Adobe. I told them to send the english book out for Premire pro and 5 times over 2 months yes 5 time 5 god dam* mother f@%^ing times they sent me the none engish book. companys flat out do not and will never give a **** about the people that buy there products. Just looking for a sale.

If I was DS I would get your personal E-mail or your site E-mail and enter it into every porn site I could fine. You guys blow...I am not flameing...well I don't mean too. Then again I don't suger coat anything and this guy got screwed. And if what he is saying is true then...damn

My Status on AW's website just jumped to 13... i think he meant what he said. He expected immediate Results from his team and he got it.

I just recieved my Tracking numbers and now... we will see when it gets here... oh yeah

I had to call the CS department and talk to the Supervisors Supervisor to get the Tracking number as promised...

AW: I said end of day I have two more hours...

DS: We agreed on 3:00 my time you have all the information in front of you can see what Time zone I am in.You agreed to 3:00 my time it is 3:00 my time I want those tracking numbers, if you don’t have them because it hasn’t shipped... I want to know.

AW: I am not in the shipping dept. sir I don’t have the numbers...
DS: Put me on hold and call their extension and get them I will wait.
