Bruce, I can't help you with your particular problem, but I think the beef everyone's got with you is that you posted on the wrong forum! You should have posted on the 'Acer Notebook' section, not the review and benchmarks. That may be why you are getting no help at all. I too would recommend calling or emailing customer support. Verify if there is a toll free number for your area, but I honestly think they can help you solve your problem.

cool thanks for your reply, at least you are being helpful. But i get the feeling that calling tech support will be a waste of time and money (from past experience), they will put me on hold and as soon as they talk to me, they will request that i send the laptop to a repair centre lol as they can't possibly give a solution over the phone, given the nature of the problem. When and if I get my new ram back I shall have to see what happens. If there is still problems I shall send it to their repair centre. They said they will not fix any user-upgraded parts. Do u think if they find a fault with the ram they will try to charge me for labour or will they warn/notify me before hand, before lumbering the charges on me?

I believe they will notify you of any charge and try to get your permission before doing anything that will cost you money. Good luck with your problem.

@mobilewannabe, do you hang around forms so you can insult people? If you don't want to help then don't insult people OK. @ Bruce, my friend has a laptop repair shop and he told me to never buy an acer! Your problem sounds like a motherboard problem. Do some research about your laptops model and motherboard problems. Good luck and don't listen to the undercover or wanna be acer tech-support people here!
