the DV8000t just came out, and I'm thinking of returning my dell for it. Yes I know I know I just returned the dv8000z for the dell, but come on man look at the GPU. Well the Dv8000t comes with a Nvidia go 7400 what do you guys think about this GPU, all I know is the 7800 go. I need to know how good this GPU is befor I do this all over again. Thanks

That gpu is not that great. Its the lower end of the 7xxx series. I would say its on par with the ati x1300, which is slightly more powerful than an x300.

So if u can live with a card thats somewhat better than a x300 in performance, then go for it. But dont expect it to match the 7800, or 6800, or 6600, or x700 or x600 in terms of performance, not even close...

It is more like X1400

According to this article the GeForce 7400 = ATI X1400.

kewl i was thinking the same thing since i have like 4 days left to return mine for a full refund. i kind of expectd hp to make a new lappy when i noticed that my last order for the zd 8000 had a message that said limited to stock on hand. i figured they were gonna release an new 17" replacement, since the standard dv8000 was a bit on the wimpy on the grahpics side for such and amazing lappy. but if what you say is true ill stick with my zd8000.

the HP guy told me they were going to stop selling the ZD8000 line. They run to hot short battery life and are way to fat. He said thet almost word by word.

Here's a question -- do you get the zd8230 or the dv8140?
