That's great to hear. Last night, before the coupon code expired, I ordered an E1705 like yours but w/2.0GHz and a 100GB 5400RPM drive.

I can hardly wait to see how it games. I'm REALLY hoping it better than the desktop I sold last month: KT6, XP2500@2.3GHz, 1GB DDR, 128MB 6800.

Mine will be here tommorow I can't wait

I got like the exact same specs as you, Im glad to hear its what im expecting. This is going to replace both systems I have now, and it hopefully will last a couple years before having to build a killer desktop (or getting another notebook.) Btw shipping for me ordered friday last week and will be recieving it friday, so thats not to bad I did end up with free 1 day air though because I wrote an email complaining about how long the boxing stage was taking.

it beats my p4 2.66ghz 2gb ram to smithereens...

dual core is awesome... makes multitasking EFFORTLESS!!!

and the 7800..dont even wanna talk abt it... plays almost every game maxed out.

with stock...i really not a huge Overclocker anymore....use to but then i found out...i ended up doing more overclocking and benchamrking then playing games..which kind of defeats the purpose

I played EQ2 at 1440x900 which is the native reolution, with most of settings on, though of course i tweaked some..i dont like flora...and shadows in eq2 are not worth performance hit..i think they stink in eq2..

i was playing in the new expansion in Tenebrous KOS and it ran great. One thing I notice...and not sure if my CRT is just bad..but I see a lot more color on the laptop then on my desktop with my Sony 19inch CRT

No need to totally quit overclocking. The simple act of cranking your settings up until you find the approximate limit with the likes of prime95/memcheck86/3Dmark, then back off 5% and go back playing your games. This gives you 95% of the benefits of overclocking with only 5% of the benchmarking/stability effort. That's what I do now, after many years wasting time trying to get as close to the overclocking "edge" as I could, to the detriment of actually enjoying myself.
