i9100 and Audigy2 NX

Hey all. I've had my audigy 2 for about a year now. Been running the drivers that were on CD (appear to be the first ones that were out for it).

Whenever i've updated to the newer drivers (feb 05 i think) the machine crashes all the time, just at random often when you start or stop a media file. over the last year i've played about with it all and i recon its something to do with Dell Quickset although i've never ran the newer drivers without QuickSet installed as I use quickset and like it.

Has anyone else had this problem? And what have then done to investigate it? Is anyone else running the newer drivers with no problems? I should really try it without Quickset installed but as I said I like quickset and so far have been able to live with older drivers.

While i'm here, does anyone else have a farting problem? :P with the sound card i mean, i seems like it holds onto its buffer and dumps it all distorted after its played what its trying to play. I thought that the new drivers might solve this, but .... well you get the idea.

I've thought about contacting Creative recently as newer games are starting to want the newer drivers, but thought I should see if anyone else has this problem.

I've had the Audigy 2 NX for about a year and a half now. No problems here. I've used both the Drivers on the CD, The stock windows drivers, and drivers off the website.

I've not tried the new drivers, I'm still on the stock Windows XP drivers. I'll prob be testing it out again, as I'll be using my sound card to recieve radio on.

I'm using Logitech z5300e's.

I picked it up when it came out. I've noticed the usual popping noises but the frequency of the popping has reduced with latest drivers.

No issues with crashing the machine etc.

mmackenny: are you using Dell Quickset?

I wanna know whats the problem, its doing my nut in. I've tried it many times too with different set ups each time.

One thing i havent tried is disabling the on-board sound card, i suppose i should try that first.

Been thinking about his, is anyone else running it off a usb hub? I always have done and have never tried it direct from the back of the machine.
