Atheros Wireless Card and WPA2

Thread Starter
Hi all, I have just purchased an Area-51 m7700 and have a question about the internal Atheros Wireless Card, does it support WPA2? I have spent hours and hours trying to get the Windows XP Wireless utility to show the options for WPA2, however all I can select is WEP, WPA or WPA-PSK. I have tried every driver I can find, however they do not work. Has any one else managed to get this to work.

Many thanks,
Cheers

All I know is I bought an Atheros card for my 5720 and it worked alot better then the Intel one it came with. Sorry I can't help you out more with it.

wow tate, thats the first time i have ever heard of an atheros card beating out an intel card. smith, my suggestion is to pop a intel 2915 card in there and you'll be good to go. i hear some bad things about them...if you want to keep the atheros, contact atheros support there has to be a driver that supports wpa2, though it is fairly new.

With the drivers supplied by Alienware there doesn't seem to be an option to enable wpa2, only wep. I also noticed there are no options to change the channel manually either. It does have incredible signal though.
