Artifacts?

Hello everyone.

I believe I am having an artifact problems and I was wondering if maybe you guys can help. Very rarely, when I play a game, the whole screen suddenly flashes for like half second only showing colored lines and goes back to normal. This have been worrying me for a while because I don't know what it really is.

The highest I have OC my card was 312/821 but I always stayed @ 300/800.

The only time I really had artifacts was when I clicked the detect optimal clock in nvidia panel when the card was a little hot. *around 70c* and while it was detecting the optimal clock settings artifacts appeared and after like 15 seconds the laptop restarted by itself.

Has anyone experienced this? Its worrying me because I don't have complete care and stuff .

Thanks in advanced

No it is not an overheating problem because I am always cheking the temps and I haven't even reached the 80c mark yet ever while playing. It never happened to me while playing EQ2 though.

BTW it is hard to explain because when it flash like that the colored lines do not look like artifact lines at all *I think*. I wish I could take a screeny but since it very very rarely happens, it's hard.

I have gone back to stock settings, lets see if it happens again.

BUMP.
The problem have not appeared since I went back to stock... then again, I haven't done enough gaming yet. Kinda suck because I never OC my card more than 312/821 and ppl seem to have it run it for days at higher clocks with no problems.

I have been running mine at 374/909, and the temperatures get a little warm. They reach between 78 and 82 when I am gaming. I blow the fans all out though to chill the gpu off, keeps it from going higher than 82.
