.exe file Not Deleting!

After modifying a .exe file in wordpad and saving it to the desktop when i run it it runs command prompt but then closes. and when i try to delete it ( which i need to very soon ) it will not let me and says the program is being used by another app. but i hvae no idea which one?? i look in the task manager but couldnt find a obvious one at all. Help!

reboot and try again.

if that doesnt work, reboot into safe mode and delete

what exactly did you think you would accomplish by editing a hex file in wordpad? it will never open or run... safemode it and del the pos

no need to be mean...never know what someone else is really trying to do mailman....press f8 on your boot screen to get into safemode

Try starting it up from a command prompt window.

tried to delete in safe mode but the file was sstill being used. its a serial code application that has been made to be cracked from hackthissite.org ( who ive had no problems with ever ) and i changed some of the text in wordpad to pass it. the program tried to recieve data from a website ( whcih may be what it is trying to do so i cant delete?? ). . Anyone know what i can do? Ive tried editing the text back but since the program is in use it cant be changed. oh this file iss called app3win and is saved on the desktop ( the filename wont be a factor will it? ( i cant change it either ))

Do you know which aplication is using it! If you do you can goto the taskmanager and stop the process that is associated with that application and the nyou should be able to delet it. can you right click the file and hit properties and get more info on it. Also make sure it is not read only. If you can get the properties screen let us know what it says. better yet do a print screen and put it up on the forum.

1) try your antivirus
2) try adaware
3) download and install eraser. reboot. right click on file and choose erase.
