yeah, both are user accessable.

If Dell was running short on Core Duo chips, then the E1705 estimated ship dates would show a longer delay, but they don't.

i just priced out a 1705, ship date mid april?!?!?

that seems longer than it should be, this makes me believe its the DUO holding things up, NOT the screens

It has been confirmed that there is a 7800go shortage right now; which is why if you try to order one with it the ship date is listed in April.

Totally incorrect - I'm running an Athlon 64 X2 right now in XP Home and it definitely sees and uses both CPUs. (Task Manager shows both with different usage graphs and I have a processor affinity setting on the processes tab) It's two separate chips in physically separate sockets that you need XP Pro for.

This is why I wasn't sure... since I haven't used XP Home myself in many years. Thanks for confirming Tabs.

And as for the person asking about Go7800 in what... the what is the E1705.

x1400 is now available in Hong Kong. I have just ordered one with following configuration. Thanks for all you guys first.

T2300 Core Duo CPU
512x2 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM
x1400 with 256MB Hypermemory
80GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
8X DVD+/-RW drive
Intel Pro/Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g 54Mbps wireless mini card
Dell wireless 350 Bluetooth Module
6-Cell 53W battery

A question just came into my mind that x1400 shares the memory with the main memory now, do I need the 677MHz RAM for bettery performance?

Oh. I got the result in previous post. I should get the 667MHz for better performance. I have another question now. Is it possible to shut down the shared memory and only use the 128MB RAM of x1400 itself?
why would you want to do that? that lowers the performance

I am not a gamer. I think the dedicated 128MB RAM of x1400 would be enough for most application I use. Is it really lower the performance?
