Second attempt

I tried to install the latest Cat 3.1 drivers but didnt manage it - I couldnt figure our what I was doing wrong.

Ran the 3D Mark 2003 test a second time and this time again I made the same score :-

929

this is at 1024X768 32BIT with VS off...

Its a bummer test...

I dont know why but I had the feeling that this is a hash job - there arent enough controls available in the free test to change the settings...

what scores are people getting around here??

Looks like the 5660 is bumping the 8887 in these tests as well...

Thats odd because there is a CPU testing part - two in fact...

Try WINACE, its works with all compression formats I have come across.

3rd attempt

Well for one thing this test is more repeatable. I got 930 on my third attempt...

This is with 259 and 182 and the 6255 drivers.

I am not able to install the Cat 3.1 drivers - If someone can help me out with this it'll be great!!

Thanks

Crashing

If you keep crashing while running it... MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DIRECT X 9 INSTALLED! Run windows update and make sure you have everything

ps. i love the French, getting over 300k/s from that link above!
plus...they are easy to make fun of!

Crashes with the default 8887 drivers. I'll look at upgrading them tomorrow or reinstalling them..
That does suck. Looks like they're not handing out 3dmarks like candy anymore. I got about 1000 with the 2001 test, so I imagine it wont even run this one.
I purchased it as a download from their website and it sent me a confirmation of the order, but no link to download it from or code to activate it.

crashing

ok, im crashing too... i did a default instal of WinxpPro. using the drivers from the cd, running windows update, then installing DirectX9. 3Dmark crashed sometime during the test, im not sure where... i was out of the room. the test so fart looked good, and i noticed no "ghosting" on the airplane benchmark that i saw before 3dmark crashed.

so... before i go mixing drivers around.. im gonna watch some movies to test this supposed ghosting effect, and load up n play Unreal 2, even though I already beat it on my desktop

ooh, and no dead pixels!

ps. does unreal2 have more than one ending?

pps. im also going to try out morrowind, im getting into that game again w/ the expansion

crashing again

Does anyone know the best solution to get 3dMark03 to run on an 8887x? Each time I run it it crashes when it loads the troll mark. the error message i get is " Reliable benchmarking cannot be completed because the 3DMark display window lost focus"

Note

I installed Norton System Works and ran a complete system optimization, HDD defrag, Registry clean, Web clean and general Optimization.

After this I turned off all taskbar programs and set them so that they dont load upon restart.

Restarted and ran 3D Mark 2003 and got a score of 970

I think everyone should use such products - really improves overall performance - even XP loaded in a record 22 seconds !!!

Any 5660 scores to compare with other than mine and wizards??

Cheers!!

What the...

Hello - what was that all about??

Powerstrip is resetting the DDR clock to 159 everytime I restart...I have to manually set it to 182 which I didnt do the first two times I ran the test...

Anyone having this problem?? When I select adapter defaults it goes to 159, when I restart 159 is the maximum clock I can set!!

Then I have to choose a cofig that I saved with the 182 setting and restart - this time it gets reset to 159 but I have the option of increasing to 182 !! I could go further but I am not trying this...

I'm finally getting to download it, lol. I have been busy as heck with schoolwork lately. Blah. Well, it's downloading at a swift 230 KB/s, lol, so I'm happy. It should finish soon and I'll see what I can get running. I do have dx9, but it's on the default drivers for the 8887, so we'll see. I might go through and install the catalyst drivers... but really, I'd rather not until games start utilizing dx9... lol, forget 3dmark until then if it won't run on my drivers. :-)

Hey Wzierbovsky,

I think there was some sort of free replacement deal if you got it within a month of the new screen coming out. Or maybe it was for 50$. Anyway, maybe you should check that out.

Cheers.
