HI!!! Im new to the forum and I'm looking for a desktop replacement. I am doing soo because Im Hopefully going off to college next year and i want a gaming notebook not too expensive (like nothing over 1500+ Dollars). I really like the Dell 9400 w/ 7800 go. It is in my price range. I want to use the notebook to handle games like Bf2 (My 9600xt in my current Desktop isn't cutting it ). My question is... Are there any other notebooks that would be a better alternative to the 9400 and what kind of 3dmark scores can I hope to expect with the 9400/7800 go??????

P.S. I read alot about the 9400/7800 go GPU running extremely hott
Can anyone comment on this????

with dell's regular 700$ off coupons, their price to performance cant be beat, u definitly get the most bang for your buck. You can also choose from laptops with x700/6600 cards, i guess they have x1700/7600's now, but they give slower performance and usually cost more, as dell is the only company iknow of that gives out such outrageous coupons.

i heard some thing about this but, they usually don't do it. sometimes if they put out like a 700 dollar coupon they might raise the price of the dell xps/e1705. i mean it will still be like a 400 dollar coupon but just giving you a heads up.

wait as long as possible. merom prolly wont be out but maybe u can get a Core Duo with a 7800gtx (or w/e the next video card is) by then...allegedly u'll be able to swap in a merom processor when they're released

definitely dell e1705, if u use coupons.

Best performnace/price ratio BY FAR.

and the dual core will make using windows ultra snappy.

There's also the MSI 1039 coming out soon, plus the Turion X2's should be around the corner...
