Wait for new alienware models to come out?

Should I wait for the next generation alienwares to come out or just the the aurora? Or well the next gen alienwares be like $6000? -_-

i think they will be in a a pretty long time because the 5500 and the 5700 and the sentia were released in i think november or december

Alienware doesn't really do "generational" design, they constantly improve the hardware they use when it's available.

There is some new stuff coming here in the next few months. A 7900 vid card, and some new processors around the corner...

my sources tell me they actually do have a few laptops coming out. (quite possibly improvements on older models like HH said)

Really? I haven't heard about that.

I hope they have a slimline 17" that supports the 7800GTX... I would have bought a 5700 by now if it offered the 7800GTX. The Sager 5720 is a clevo 570 platform, maybe they're gonna offer that or something similar...

I believe AW is due to issue a new "generation" if you will in october of this year. I have been reading a few articles and it seems as though as far as models go, a new system design will be presented for consumers around October. I have no idea if that is when it will be availale or whether that is the tentative month of release. Gl every1 with your systems.

Im getting the MJ 12 m7700a in 5 days!!! I got a amd 3200+ so hopefully that is a descent enough proc. I will upgrade when price for a sweet one reduces. Anyone know if it is usually the videocard or the processor that is the bottleneck? I had this huge fight with a colleague and he insists its the video card, but I believe otherwise! Please let me know on your insights. Thanks every1. You pWn!

Personally i doubt the new M2 socket will make so much of a differetn (atleast in the begining). And the ones out now are pretty well tested and with good performance so why wait. There is always something new and better comming out. Ofcourse if it's a matter of days/weeks it might be worth the wait but i doubt the new models are out for atleast 6month and if you need a laptop now it's way to long to wait. Also you will be paying much more i assume since they are all new and all.

I have ordered an Aurora m7700 with 4400+ and 7800GTX so i think i will be using this monster for the next 2-3 year
Play only WoW right now and i think i will manage it until WoW 2 hit the store

i have seen a few companies already selling the dual 7800gtx and turion 64 laptops. saw some adds in a pc mag. i was like what! they had my clevo shell and the 5720's clevo shell then they were dwarfed by the kinda thin mega wide laptop. ill check clevo's site for it.
