I have 1GB of memory right now, and it's not enough for BF2... is 1.5gb good enough?
i heard that 1gb is enough just tweak like disable the intor movies ( teh movies that play when the game loads) they are like 200mb rite ther (this is all from what i read)... or just get 2gb...

I think it probably will be.

My system was 1.8gh, 1gig ram, 7800go, 7200rpm 60gig hd and i had to run it on medium settings at 1680x1050 resolution to get 45+ fps.

I just put in 2gigs so now i get 50+fps on max settings but no aa. No aa cause I don't need it at 1680x1050.

Hope that helps

how do you get 1650by1050... on the video menu the max is 1600x1200

staffpro: the intro movie are disable but it still need more ram...

you have to go into the target bf2.exe and add some commands that force that resolution. Its not a good fix because your field of view is a bit smaller or somethig, but it makes it run at native fore my monitor

2GB is generally considered to be what you need to make it run totally smoothly with everything maxed - does so fine on my desktop w/ 2GB & 7800GTX.

Also using 2 identical 1 gig chips gives you the faster performace of Dual Channel memory.

I just loaded bf2 into my E71705 and it works great, now DL all the patches for the game.

I am using 2 gigs Ram Dual Channel

well then indeed 2gb is needed to run it "smoothly", anyways in the future patches i heard they are werking on ways to reduce bf2's memory usage because it is said that it uses the ram very inneficciently for eg. lvls that u played earlier still stay in ram.... stuff like that...

my .00002 cents

yeah, 2GB is definitely nice to have for BF2, especially if you want all your eye candy on. I have run BF2 on as little as 512MB of RAM but with alot of graphical options turned town and several tweaks. But going from 1GB of DDR on my desktop to 2 really made things load faster, and removed alot of that initial choppiness.
