work over transparent objects? I just found out. I'm using my optical mouse over a glass coffee table... pretty cool huh? lol

I rubbed one on my ass once, and I made an awesome picture in Paint doing so.

doesn't work on my glass table. I've got a Logitech wireless mouse for notebooks mouse.

there was a guy who turned his optical mouse into a crap image scanner.

damnit ill have to find the link cause yall will put me up for notw if i dont back up this claim lol

works on my carpet... hahaha your carpet SUCKS! lol jk. upon further testing of optical mice on glass: it doesn't work as well as on an opaque surface. I must have jumped the gun to early because of the excitement!

The only way that's possible is that there is something under it that is close enough for the sensor to scan and/or the sensor of your mouse is really good and has good range.

If you are talking about a cheap generic $9 mouse, and a coffee table that is 1 meter off the floor with nothing closer under it, than you are full of

That was one thing that the Laser Mice had to brag about... being able to be used on a clear surface (such as a glass top desk). I'm fine with my mx510 for now

The glass table is about 2 feet off the ground, and I'm using a $15 Microsoft mouse. It sort of works, but it's really cool (actually, annoying is a better word) because I have to move the mouse 3 times as further to move the cursor the same distance as if I were on an opaque surface.

My $15 Creative optical mouse can't work on glass surface, but my MX518 and G5 work on every surfaces.
