Inspiron 6000? Good deal?

Hi, first time posting. A friend of mines cousin bought an Inspiron 6000 a few months back. For one reason or another he doesn't want it anymore and wants to get a new desktop machine. I will be going to college this fall so I'm in the market for a laptop. He wants 1450 for it ($1300 + the 2gigs of ram he upgraded.)

Anyway, it's specs are P-M 2.13GHz, 2Gig 533MHz Ram, x300 128mb, 100GB HDD, Highest level screen (1920res i think) and thats all the important specs I guess.

Do you guys think it's worth the price? I have used the machine and it run fine and he plays WoW on it pretty well. I'm not too concerned with gaming but I would like to be able to run the new Morrowind IV: Oblivion at atleast 8x6 or 1024x768 with decent framerates, otherwise I'll only play an occasional FPS online. I really want to play FEAR and I see on these boards already that people have trouble running it with the x300, but is it really that bad? Would it be able to handle that what I want? Any input is welcome.

EDIT: It's also got the DVD Burner, Bluetooth, and a 9 cell battery which I forgot to mention.

Nice spec's, but two problems:

1) That's about the same price you'd pay for a new system (go price one out with that config on the small business site).

2) The 6000 has recently been replaced by the 6400, so you'd be buying right at the end of life.

I went and priced one just now equipped the same as his and it came to $2,221 after a $200 dollar small business discount.

Went ahead and priced the 6400 too, it came to about the same price ~2200. Duo's sound great, but it didn't have any options for a better screen or dedicated graphics, although it did have a 7,200rpm HDD vs. a 5400rpm drive.

Ok, yeah I did come much closer to your price (i added BT and XP Pro), it's the 2gigs of ram pushing it up over 2,000. I'll just show him the price and that online and see if he'll come down any.

2200$?

i would NEVER pay that much for a 6000/6400.

new 6400s can be had for 1000-1500$ (MAX) on homesite

Yep, good deal for your friend & bad deal for you...

Don't get more than stock memory from dell. They charge about 3-4 times of what you would have to pay for the ram at some cheaper place. And as upgrading ram is really easy never ever invest in memory at dell.
