Is it worth the extra 75 to go for the 667mhz over the 533mhz?

Those threads clearly point out that 533 is more than enough on the particular mobo's in the E1705/9400 and then you have the timing issues..
the 300pt decrease really doesnt surprise me.
just another viewpoint..

To be honest, the information in other threads here comparing CPU bandwidth to memory bandwidth seemed to be in line with what I was experiencing, so I accepted it as fact easier than I should have. That's especially true considering that I found the Mushkin that I have to be unstable this weekend (the notebook kept hard-locking randomly, and wouldn't let a Windows install finish). Switching back to the original memory resolved those issues. Perhaps the lower 3DMark score is related to that in a more subtle way.
On the other hand, the most demanding use I have for a PC is gaming. Other than that, it's all surfing/spreadsheet/email work, so gaming is really all I have to judge performance by.
