I have a smudge on my screen and before I wipe it off, I'd like to know if there is something in particular I should use.

I got this from Eddie, an Asus reseller: 50% isopropyl alcohol, 50% water solution. Apply the solution to a microfiber cloth (not directly to the screen) and wipe.

Monster Screen Clean works very well. It is a little expensive, but it will last a long time. It comes with a microfiber cloth.

Klear Screen:

This stuff is great. In addition to Notebooks I also use it for my Axim, HDTV, and PSP. Alcohol and Ammonia free. In addtion to bottles with micofiber they have travel singles (I always have 2 - 3 in notebook case).

QFT. Almost all of those commercial screen cleaners use something along these lines anyways. So go buy yourself a big bottle of pure rubbing alcohol and clean away. Oh, don't forget the water.

There are like hundereds of threads on this. Just use ispropoly and a soft cloth. Put some of the ispropoly on the cloth, and wipe throughly and don't apply pressure, just let the weight of your hand keep it on the screen. Wipe it clean and let it dry.

carefull with the rubbing alchol. If its too abrasive, you run the risk of ruining your screens finish.
