In order to connect to the wireless network at a university it isn't nexessary to have windows xp pro is it?

I think not, I guess since peoble with OSX can connects just the same linux would too... but im not 100% sure.

Im also guessing you could do it with Windows XP Home if thats what you mean.
(again not entirely sure)

No. All you need is XP Home.

Yea that's what I was hoping for because notebooks don't come standard with pro and I've been looking at the dell xps 140 and I really don't think I need xp pro for this because I assume that I should have no problem connecting with mce, however I just want to make sure before I order it.
