Ok so you've looked at the 8790.
Nice, but its not quite right for you is it?
A bit expensive and you feel its missing some of the features the 8890 has.
I know you have debated about text on the UXGA screen being too small.
I know you would prefer the clarity of a 16" SXGA, particularly the way that
aussie raves on about it. Easier to read than the UXGA - you bet.
But the 8890 just doesn't come in the SXGA anymore. Or does it???
Have you ever kicked yourself for not getting an 8890 when they were
available with the brilliant 16" SXGA screen?
Now you can.
However there is a down side. It's second hand and I only have one.
I have to sell it. I don't want to. I don't have any choice, I need the money.
What you gain by it being second hand is that you know it has a perfect
screen (no dead pixels and no scratches), it is working flawlessly and
that the remaining 9 months warranty can be transferred to you
(PC Torque can verify this if you like).
The offer is an 8890-V with the fastest 3.2 GHz CPU you can get,
1 GByte memory, the easy to read 16" SXGA screen and DVD burner option.
I could only afford a 40 Gbyte disk at the time, so with the money you can
save on this machine you can get two new 7200 RPM disks and have the
ultimate in disk speed.
The laptop is also fitted with wireless and Bluetooth if you need them.
Bay 3 is unused so you can either fit a TV tuner or 3rd hard drive.
You already know this is a good second hand unit, so you know you are going
to save money by buying it. You will save more than enough to fit it out
with twin high speed drives and it will still be cheaper than a new unit.
It is a low cost $2000 way to own a 8890-V with the easier
to read SXGA screen. Save your $1000. Spend that on something else.
Want something for free? Let's say you don't need the high speed disks but would like to have RAID anyway?
Ok, the deal includes a free, second 40GB disk.
I was going to setup RAID but didn't get around to it.
In selling the laptop, I no longerhave a use for it so,
kI am giving it away free with the laptop.
It can be installed in the second drive bay and you will own a laptop
with twin RAID disks.
Ok you are down to here. Now what? Save $1000 and get the SXGA 8890-V.

You are driving me bananas now. You have the deal. It looks good. You know
the screen is easier on your eyes. You know the warranty is transferrable.
You know you are going to save $1000. You even have the free 40Gbyte disk.
So email me deuse_x@hotmail.com
Still reading huh? Lets get serious. You know the 8890 with the 3.2GHz CPU
is fast. You know the SXGA is a clear screen. You know saving $1000 makes
sense. Gimme. Gimme. Gimme. Email me at deuse_x@hotmail.com and the laptop
is yours.
Serious didn't work either huh? How about pride? How about presence?
How about ownership? How about sheer unadulterated grunt? deuse_x@hotmail.com
Big thanks to my mate Aussie
