Yea, but evidently if you have to change the font size, something's wrong with the screen size.

Plus, you can't really resize everything - it will partially resize some fonts, but not others - not to mention CSS websites, and so on. In short, if a screen at regular size is too small with regular font sizes, then it is too small. Just my 2 cents though, some people might not agree with my point of view.

There's worse than a 15" UXGA though. Dell is certainly going wacko - QWXGA on a 15" screen

Wait a second... Who said you HAVE to use the screen in its native resolution? When im using mine for basic usage, i run it at 1024x768. Looks great. Dont need any more than that to check email, surf the web, etc etc... If i need to do more intense work (video/audio editing) i'll throw it up to 1600x1200, because the extra screen real-estate really helps.

They handle off resolutions very well - well except 1280x1024... You can notice odd shaped pixels in that res...

If someone who owns the 8890 with a 15 inch screen could take a picture of it so everyone could see the size of the border that would be great. I am starting to think it would not be as noticable as I originally thought. My vote is for the 15 inch screen.

While my vote is for the 16". Figure if you're going to go balls to the walls, might as well have the real estate to go with it But hey- that's just me.

And Kid, I'm happy to see you ordering. I feel sort of responsible in a way
Glad my little bit of advice ended up doing some good.

1 inch added is not un-noticable

yes, but it's too pricey for that 1 inch, in addition to potential screen deficiencies for me

I'd go with the 16". You've got the space under the lid, makes sense to use it, the bigger screen is nice to have.

And hey, what guy (or gal!) doesn't want another inch! Eh?
