NEW UPDATE 3/7/06: Not sure what happened but it looks like J&R shipped me out my SZ160 yesterday, so not only did I not have to wait, but I got it for $2350 out the door! It's set to arrive Friday, so I canpost an update then... maybe they sent me the wrong one or maybe they held my laptop afterall? Or did they get more in?
UPDATE: I called to check on my order this morning because it wasn't updating as shipped as was promised.
Long story short, apparently my credit wasn't processed fast enough on Friday and when they went to process it today, the credit department needed to contact me for approval today. Not that it mattered anyway because apparently they don;t hold units based on when you call and place your order, only when your credit is approved!!! That is SO BOGUS! J&R basically sold all the units out before my credit was approved even though the salesperson (Carlos) assured me I was getting one of the final 4 units. In addition, I spoke to a Pam on Saturday that confirmed that my Credit needed to just be processed on Monday but a unit was still being held for me. Apparently that wasn't the case and all units were already shipped out. So basically, not 1, but 2 sales people straight out lied to me, or were just plain stupid about how allocation works. Needless to say I'm PISSED!
J&R is offering me the system at $2350 which includes free Shipping just to keep me as a customer because of these 2 idiot salespeople. I'm going to keep it for now, but will jump ship if there is any chance of me getting one sooner. J&R has basically lost me as a customer.
Are there any other places with the SZ160 in stock?
