Help with Pin-modding?

Hey guys, i was looking for a new laptop to replace my 9860 that was stolen.

Anyway, i was looking at the i9300s because they are pretty cheap (1500 for a used one). ive been seeing a lot of these "Pin mods" and i was wondering what these were. If anyone could point me in the right direction, i would be greatly appreciatave
