PCMCIA MTD-0002 detected with Bluetooth VOIP phone (8204)

Thread Starter
When I insert my VOIP this device is detected but the drivers cannot be found anywhere (internet, cd, windows update).

Research has revealed that Phoenix BIOS is known to cause conflist between PCMCIA devices and perhaps legacy SoundBlaster devices. My BIOS does not have the settings suggested in those forum posts.

Has anyone else run into this?

It's prabably not a big deal if my phone charges but the hardware warning is annoying.

How to get VOiP Phone to work

The PCMIA thing is definitaly an annoyance. I like to keep a clean Device Manager layout, and every time the phone is inserted for charging, the driver starts to install, I press cancel on the PnP (plug 'n pray) screen, and the beloved yellow question mark appears in Device Manager until I unistall the device. Some kind of fix would sure be nice.

At any rate, I have a different problem/question...

I have everything installed, can open Skype and use the echo test to record my voice, but cannot hear anything in the phone's speaker. Audio comes out of the notebook speakers only.

Also, Windows Bluetooth (and the base drivers) cannot pair with this phone. Is there a PIN we're not aware of that the VCM software knows about? Thanks.

bbakerma,

You have to use the special Acer software, the VCM software. I tryed also to connect the phone with windows and it asked for a code. Well you don't have a code. So connect your VoIP phone with the Acer software.

Try hitting the "speaker" button on the phone when you're connected. Worked for me yesterday.

The card-phono driver is called cardphon.inf and it is located in
C:\Program filers\Acer\Acer VCM\

This might be because the output device is still configured to use your sound card. Open up Sounds and Audio Devices in the Control Panel and click on the Audio tab and change the Sound Playback to your device.
