8204 screen getting brighter? - Page 2

Hey, CZ:

I had a Ferrari 3200 18 months ago and the screen looked exactly the same. Same issues with lack of brightness, off axis performance, and the "lines" which it seems are a offshoot of how the polarity is managed on these screens, not an actual hardware or software problem.

I think we're just a highly critical bunch; Samsung has obviously made millions of these pups by now and not heard much bad back, certainly not had major numbers of returns. So bottom line I guess we learn to live with it... learn to take a "don't worry, be happy" view.

Not sure if I'm going to do it. I might be better off buying an external lcd monitor when working on heavy graphics and video. I'm used to the brightness now, viewing angles suck but I'm getting used to it. I'm really impressed with the performance so it's aiding in my ability to make a living on this current project I am contracted on .

That would imply that just switching screen brands thru an LCD replacement company might not help. Maybe with an update or some such solution, the screens grey lines can be fixed.

Does anyone know if the Ferrari suffers form the same "grey line" syndrome?
I'm curious what these grey lines look like. Do you have a screen shot of them?

hehe just to clarify its not the massive grey bars we mean!

Notice in the image how every 2nd line HORIZONTALLY is brighter.

LOL. Good point. It never occured to me that someone might think that it's the image. I suppose if I didn't know if I had the problem or not, I might think that was it

Boy you are right, I did think that was what you meant. Either way I can't see any problems on my screen (maybe it's just my eyes).

Sorry to hear that some of you do have this problem!
