yeah its still ****ING BROKEN!! this time it came back after yet another two weeks (this would be the 5th consecutive trip to the depot) ive been sending it and reciecing it since december.. yes december.... it took them the first few times to fix the origional problem, in the process thye broke something else, and they fixed that and then i get it back this time and it has the origional problem i had the second time i sent it in!!! I have literally sent it back the same day i got it 5 times in a row and last time he made sure hed note "heavily" for them to closely inspect it..... yeah. right. so i call them up, and of course im annoyed, and i give him my info, and i said my problem in an annoyed tone then i mentioned firmly this will be the 5th time in a row i have recieved my computer back from you people broken, how can it slip throguh the quality control so often..? then he says hold and before i say another thing he puts me on hold for 1hr... then i hung up and no i wasnt yelling on the phone i was being reasonable but when the guy picked up the phone he sounded liek a dick who hated his job compared to other ppl ive talked to.. He was like i dunno he just sounded like an ass, anyways.... whatever.. this is inexcusable theres no possible way you people here could defend a company like this. oh and after i talked to him i called back a little later and the person immediately said i am not authorized to help you your warranty expired (i got my computer back saturday, and called monday) and it came back broken.... (ive really lost all hope in the comptuer so when it comes back now i dont even turn it on i just wait till i need to use it or something)

the problem is whenever i take it off of AC power the screen goes completely distorted.. like tv snow but colorful... cant see anything! id hope this is troubleshootable but seeing as noone would take the time to trouble shoot it since im past my warranty ( despite my warrant expired while it was in the shop as well as the fact that my computer speant 25% of its life in the shop.... under the circumstances i do want compensation this time... id settle for a 6month extention on my warranty.... so one of the reps please contact me

this is absolutely ridiculous, I will NEVER buy a computer from alienware again and i have definently kept a few people away,

How old is the system? I assume you've done the replace everything deal (Graphics card, memory etc..) To be honest, my system is about the same as yours: 5500 - 3 Ghz, 1 gb ram, ati 9700...etc and I've had mine now for about a year and 4 months. I've had to replace the hard drive once but thats been it (thank god). I feel if anything else goes its MY problem to deal with. I hate to say it, but from your post it sounds like Alienware is kind of saying that to you. Out of warranty, out of luck...

AlienGreen, If your issue is extended then Alienware will most likely extend the warranty until the issue is resolved. Send a message to Alienware-Steve with a link to this thread.

....Jeees, no need to be attacking me for your bad AW experience.
I'll say it a little louder so you can hear: OUT OF WARRANTY, OUT OF LUCK!!!
Most likely when you sent it to them all those time, THEY DID NOTHING!
Systems under warranty take precident over those not covered.

Here, have a banana---

Gotta feel for a fellow Houstonian!!! "Catch More Fly's With Honey"...Sorry all the times its been in for repair. I would think whether its three or five times, you may have some recourse.

Unless you are leaving out some of the story. Somehow this just don't sound right. Let us know!!!

AlienGreen, it sounds like it could be loose connection from all that shipping back and forth. What was the thing that broke while it was being repaired the first time??

your the most ignorant person alive.... they sent a computer back to me broken... here since you cant seem to comprehend ill put dates in for you (wont be completely accurate just a vague idea)

December 12th - power supply broke (supposedly) waited a week for replacement
December 19th - recieved the replacement which didnt work (i told them it wasnt the power cord cause it wouldnt turn on at all) they said let us send you another cord. I finally told them id justl ike an RMA
January 5th - recieve back from depot, power issue fixed, CD drive broken, USB issue, graphics issue Call alienware and send back on the 8th or something
January 30 - Recieve computer back with the wrong CD drive, and the computer will not stay on. keeps shutting down recurringly.
February 12th - warranty expires
February 15th - recieve computer back missing pads and with a graphics issues (again) and with a scratched case, and a soft spot on the keyboard (just annoying its not that bad)
February 16th send it back (techo n phone says he will put extensive notes to make sure it actually recieves the quality check)
March ssomething (last weekend) - i recieved it still wiht thew rong cd drive, and still with the graphical problem, as well as shutting down occasionally (most likely due to overheating i guess because its so random) none of the drivers installed, and such...

Now... heres somehting even you can comprehend.... (to the guy saying im 12 OUT OF WARRANT OUT OF LUCK... if oyu send a computer to get repaired, for a charge even, and it comes back broken wiht the same problem or whatever do you go around parading in your dr seuss pajamas waving a baton in the air shouting loudly OUT OF LUCK OUT OF LUCK.... no... and repair work is work which is being paid for due to the fact that I PURCHASED a warranty...

i bet if you were in the same situation youd be crying literally

AlienGreen, you have been here long enough to know how the forums are. you did your phase time here. I went back and looked at that time and it was stressful then how you kept missing the delivery. Best you can do is get in contact with Alienware-Steve and work your way through the processes. It'll work out. It always helps to give as much info as you can. like the old tv cop show saying...'just the facts'. the forums good for venting but posting as much info as you can helps a lot. Thanks for staying with us at the forums. keep the updates coming.

I'm sorry if you feel the need to flame me but maybe, just maybe, if you stand back and take a deep breath, you'll see why your not getting any satisfaction.

Alienware even stated I still have a thirty day warranty... And your still arguing? Are you saying they shouldn't honor this warranty... I mean seriously what are you trying to say

Wow... Customer service was terrible... He admitted I have a warranty duh... then he said something about after they fix it next time they won't offer me a warranty when it comes back or something because it will have been fixed/broken too many times even though every issue is their fault. I mentioned that the "after a reasonable number of attempts Alienware will refund or rebuild your computer." He said that the warranty is subject to change without notice which is pretty much illegal.... So I'm sure he doesn't know what hes talking about. Then! I was like well I'm not going to send it in again at the risk of not having a warranty when it gets back, then I am really shit out of luck.... I said in my warranty it says you should replace it after a reasonable number of attempts and that if you are about to cancel the warranty because its been fixed so much then I would think that would mean that is a "reasonable" amount of times. He said thats your opinion. I do not agree. (He had an attitude for the most part of the conversation). Then I said well let me speak to a manager, he said just plain flat out no. I was like why can I not speak to your manager. He said because there is no need to and that my warranty has expired. Then (getting annoyed) I said so... if I had a warranty? I could talk to a manager. He said certainly, but you dont. I then asked do I or do I not have a 30 day extension on my warranty after recieving it back from the shop to which he replied yes. I then said then I have a warranty. He said its not the same warranty (even though it is, its just a 30 day extension on your old warranty I believe, Unless it was expired before it broke in which case it is different). I was just like so theres some clause in this warranty which says I'm not allowed to speak to a customer service manager and he said I dont have it in front of me but it is implied yes. At this point I was very annoyed... I asked for his name and he would not give it to me, because I find it hard to believe a company actually sticks you with customer service reps like this that read straight out of a book and dont allow you any other means of .... you know... Its frustrating its like he tells you no but hes incredibly in the wrong by denying me a manager or refusing to acknowledge my warranty but I cant do anything about it because he refuses to transfer me or let me speak with someone with status. Anyways....

Alright, thanks. Its much appreciated

You have my sympathy Aliengreen . The only time I've ever heard "yes" from AW is when I asked if they would send me extra hard drive screws when they send my laptop back to me so that I could put in another hard drive that I bought from newegg. It's incredibly hard to sound friendly when talking to reps who don't want to do anything, but if you don't absolutely sugar-coat your words, some of these ***** won't hesitate to tell you where to shove it. I've had issues with them that have gotten me a little annoyed, but they pail compared to your problems. I won't delve too deeply into mine because they are already posted here. To be honest, my absolute worst fear, as I've mentioned before, with my system is that it will come back as broken as it left me . So, as you well know, you have every right to be upset.

HOWEVER: You have no more reason to fear. Alienware-Steve has given you his word, and that is worth more than 20 fully tweaked out golden ALX's.

P.S.: just ignore XoXoX. Just about everyone at NBF is here to give and get as much support as they can, technical and emotional, but it goes without saying that there are exceptions to every rule.
