My 9400 intell wireless works great! No drop out or probs connecting like with the 9300. Happy customer here.

The 3900 series Duo cards are an entirely different card and driver set from the 2200 series Centrino cards. Intel probably put alot of effort into making the driver package do what consumers wanted and made the advanced switching crap an option on the default install.

Actualy they use the same driver package, or at least that is how it was when I last checked Intel's drivers.

I remember while back someone giving me a hard time that I shouldn't be downloading large files over wireless.. This was in response to me complaining that it takes 1 hour to download 500 mb worth of stuff..

Well, here is what I found out..

If I drag-and-drop from source computer to my lappy, transfer FLIES (as well as it should)..

If I drag-and-drop from my lappy directly, I get the crap speeds..

Any one know how this can be?

It'll work like a champ after that, the 2200BG does for me.
thanks this is what I wanted to know. So go to intell.com and look for the drivers there or what? Or google them, is it called the "PRO/Set package from Intel" or dose it go by another name? I can't wait to go home and try this.

"So let me get this straight, you want information, which is already all over the forums, yet you start a NEW thread to ask a question that is already asked and answered simply because you do not want to LURK and LEARN, then you get into tiffs with the very people who "could" help and you alienate them.

I am failing to see how this is a good way to get "good" info. Maybe I am missing the social enginering tactic hidden in your posts. Maybe its just me, maybe i am just old."

If you know where I can find this information that is all over the forums, please just tell me. What the hell did I do man, I was just trying to get some information bro come on, back off me.

Yes you are, keep looking though, I'm sure you'll find the hidden tactics, but you have to look very hard, and you might want to read it over and over.
Or you could just tell me what I need to know, or point me to some one who dose? Keep looking though I'm almost sure it will hit you.

On my Inspiron 6000, I have the Intel 2200 wireless setup. At first, the wireless was kind of flaky so I downloaded the lastest drivers from Dell's homepage and ever since the update it works beautifully now. As I'm typing this, I've had my Azureus client open for the last >24 hours and it's working very stably. At the same time, I have Firefox open with 20 tabs, one instance of IE open, and ZoneAlarm running in the backgroun.

My driver version number according to Device Manager is v9.0.3.9 and dated September 12, 2005.
