Please post all arguments over these two cards as well as driver updates you may have as well...
Considering the 5600 is no longer available in the Area51m...

This is a moot thread.

Radeon. A bench mark test revealed Ati to be superior [those 2 cards only]. Nvidia lacks behind everywhere else.

We're talkin on facts here, and it is the fact . Nvidia currently sucks.

How am I disagreeing?? Stop being so defensive...EVERYONE! What my previous post states is that Robo covered the basic points to the ATi vs Nvidia argument.

What I also should have added is that you should look a bit further into the forums here as there are about 10 different threads (all with multiple pages) on this topic already.

Thanks!

Now how can you say that? I have a 9600 pro desktop, and the Nviida in my laptop, the Nvidia performs the same on my games. The only difference I can find is that the driver support for the Nvida is better, and it's not as flakey.

I just don't think my old eyes can tell the performance difference.

Nvidia makes some great cards (I prefer theyre company over ATI) but in this case i chose the radion because it was an all around better card. If there was an Nvidia that matched the ATI, I would gladly accept it instead. The ATI is a great card too, I just prefer Nvidia.

new NV 5600 go driver: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/thor1182/home/53.zip

thats the newest driver that will give the best performance on the NV card.

on the ATI vs NV war.... NV is more stable, and on these computers generally better looking (less to tweak in terms of wash out). benchmark scores mean cr@p if it looks bad, and it over heats easily. My NV card has yet to over heat on me.

Of course hte NV card does drag in new games, good in half life though....

In all reality, they both suck for new games, and we need better ones.

^^IAWTP....mostly. We surely will benefit from the next Gen of GPU's...

Plus we'll be able to finally try out our nifty upgrade modules!
