I was talking to dell spare parts depo, and some guy told me they had this hard HD for that price. I'm trying to get them to swich my HD for that one. The guy that sold me the notebook is going to call me tomorrow to set it up. They better do this, or I'll make them send me a new notebook!! The 9400 I have is just not doing what all you people keep saying it can do, so I would be more then happy to get a new one with that HD!! Any way thought you guys should know. That's all I know for now. I'll let you guys know how it gos.

that's not a notebook drive, its an external HD via Firewire or USB.

Dell Spare Parts doesn't sell external drives, so it's more likely just an OEM internal desktop drive.

Ask the sales droid for a part number and full description.

They don't even have 120 7.2k hard drives for notebooks, so how would they have a 160?
The only 160gig 2.5" harddrive currently on the market is the Seagate Perpendicular Drive... and it operates at 5400rpm. So the Spare Parts person isn't selling you the proper product.

You gotta watch those spare parts people....

Actually, SEAGATE has a 160GB 2.5in Notebook drive out in the market...

Seagate 160GB Momentus 5400.3 ATA 2.5in HDD w/ 8MB Cache

Yes it was annouced January 05

Yet again, the point was not whether or not there was a 160GB 2.5 in drive, but the fact that there is no 7200 RPM 160 (or 120)GB drive in a 2.5 in form factor.

Did you look at the other responses? We said that the Perpendicular is the only 160gig drive... and the OP was asking about a 7200rpm drive. =)
