Help with motherboards

Currently I own a HP Pavilion dv4000

When I bought the system I was told that I could upgrade to a better graphics card..., but I cannot because it is integrated into the motherboard! So, I talked to a few people and they said the best thing to do, is to get a new motherboard that supports the same processor type (pentium M 1.86), and make sure that I can upgrade the video card. I think that this is a good idea, except that how do I find out what kind of board will fit in my computer and support the processor and other components of the laptop?

Please help me...!!!!

Thanks,

Sorry to say what you are asking is near impossible.

Only a handful of notebooks sold models with integrated graphics and with seperate graphics card.

Even then buying just the motherboard makes no sense as they typically sell for about 65% the value of the notebook (individual parts worth more than the sum of the parts and you could probably make a living buying new notebooks and parting out!

If this is important to you (and your current setup just won't do) then sell your notebook and use funds to buy from anywhere but the jerk who lied to you to make the sell.

Large chain stores with low paid sales staff who make it on commission are not recommended for buying from as they lie to you, say things you want to hear, just to make a sell.

GOOD LUCK!
