I noticed this today when I had my Brand NEW Satellite A100-JH2 Centrino DUO notebook on Powersaver profile.. the LCD would go dark after 1 min as per the profile but then when i move the mouse or hit keys.. it would not wake up.. although the computer still functions fine and i can still open up apps and stuff.. to get it back on, i have to close the lid, let it hibernate and then open it up again... what is going on??

I would say driver or something. My lappy doesn't return from hibarnate if it runs 2000 but under 98 has no problems.

I would check toshiba site for updated video driver or bios image. Also check for an error in the event log.

looking at the canadian site, it looks like bios and display drivers were released 2/6. (probably what you have) New power management module (and a few others) released monday. I don't know what the power management fixed, but it could be related.

Sorry about the DD/MM/YY. My mistake Then display drivers are from March 2, and power are March 1. The blurb says they are for PSAA9C-XXXXX and does show version numbers for comparison. I think yours is PSAA9C-JH200E. Toshiba should be able to tell you if this is correct. The ATI driver is 80MB. It may be for all the current ATI cards.

that is really funny, cause that must have just changed it within the hour haha... cause it was listed as PSAA2C-XXXXX earlier and there was some BIOS updates to 1.30 but now there isn't.. this is new.. GREAT

well none of those drivers/downloads help me cause i am already up to date.. those are just current drivers for the A100's if you need to reinstall drivers or something.. i guess i'll have to wait and see if there is gonna be an update on the power management tools... the other issue i am having is the wireless networking seems to stop downloads part way thru download and it isn't just on mine cause the defective one i had before did the same thing... need new network drivers!

That's the problem with getting very new machines. After a while, they are fine, but the first few weeks/months may be an adventure.

well seems like fn-f5 and fn-spacebar turns it back on.. hmm gonna try turning my wake up on keyboard option on in the bios and see if this helps

i have been noticing this problem only when the LCD shuts down after being in hibernation mode. Once you reboot, it will work fine. However if you follow these steps, the LCD will not power on.

1. Close lid to hibernate
2. Re open lid to go back into windows
3. Wait for monitor to shut off.

At this point, once the monitor shuts off, you will not be able to re-open it.
The only thing that works is FN-SPACEBAR or FN-F3 to go into Standby then re open. Have you guys found the solution yet?
