no more 7800 :(

Thread Starter
was good while it lasted, but the 7800 can no longer be selected on the 9400...

looks like x1400 on 9400 only and can't even select the x1400 on e1505 anymore.

was gonna order here next week also, oh well guess I have to wait now as the x1400 just isn't enough for my needs.

Here in Norway the demand for 7800 is big. People have to wait at least 4 weeks because they dont have enough 7800.

There is a shortage of 7800s here in the US as well. Last I checked it was still possible to order a 9400 with it, but the ship date isn't listed until late in April due to the shortage.

I wonder if we can get one through DELL parts?

I have to get another E1705 and I am not interested in the X1400 at all... not after having the 7800...

What the heck happened? Why would they take the 7800 off of the E1705...

This is strange. I was looking at these for a client of mine...

two possibilities... the shortage was taking a toll on the shipping times... or they are prepping for the 7900 which is talked about not being around for another 6 months....

The E1705 in my sig is no longer mine... The in-laws took it in the middle of the night.. I can't report it since they are still family, so I have to wait and see what happens. I was very much so interested in purchasing another one though.. But I will not do so unless I ahve a good way of getting the 7800 or 7900

ANy thoughts all??? The x1400 just does not impress me with its "hyperCRAP" structure.

Oh man, I was going to wait to get the E1705, but fortunately I got it before there's no more 7800 available.

Damn. Just goes to show you what a popular notebook this is/was. I mean it's only 2 months old, and already in short supply ?!
well it is just probably a inventory issue, it should be back up, coz everyone knows ati x1400 is no match to 7800 go, i think dell knows what we know and they will make it avalaible again

Perhaps the 7900 will appear very soon

I am willing to bet we will see the 7900Go. nvidia is shifting all profuction of the 7XXX based cards to 90nm. That means a cooler running card. Plus the desktop 7900 has 20 pipes, mabey we will see that.
i would have to assume that the 7800 will return long before a 7900 makes its way to the lappy market. With all the other posts concerning timeframes of GO vs. Desktop parts, it would be very amazing to see a 7900 Go or GTX with in the next few months. Maybe in 6 months we have a chance. Unitl then, we speculate and ramble.

Damn I miss my 1705.

MAn this really sucks! I am a nVidia fan and I don't want to get the ATI card. I hope and they better bring back the nVidia card.

Yeah - I'm thinking that the 7900 is end of year timeframes - hopefully as a DX10 fully compatible card (i.e not using software emulation etc.)

Geek - dare we ask - what happened to your baby?

The desktop 7900gt has 24 pipes, just like the 7800gtx.

There is absolutely no way to know this...the 7900 Go isn't out yet, and probably won't be for another 6 months.
