post #21 of 75
WOOOWW
This truely looks nice. Much thiner then the m7700 from the picture to judge.
I had other reason to consider cancelling my order but now i REALLY think i should wait for this model.
Not a big fan of SLI but i like the size and look of this new model.

What do you guys think? any advice ?

well to be honest... i'de say if ya got the money, go 4 it

Well i am paying around 2500£ for the laptop and with some extra shizzle around 2800£ so if i go with the single GPU i shouldn't get so much higher then that i'm thinking but perhaps they have much higher priced at the start.

You think it will cost considerably higher ?

I don't really care for it, but I never thought I would want a 17" notebook either.

I personally don't care for the screen resolution, the use of a turion in sli...that has to be a serious bottle neck there, and w/ SLI or duel gpu's isn't the point to have it @ a high resolution w/ all the eye candy?

from what I've seen w/ the 7800 go's in the Dell 9400, it's on par w/ a 6800 ultra...I think I'll stick w/ the 7800 go GTX single gpu application and a smaller screen w/ higher resolution.

But kudos for actually coming out w/ a sli notebook...who would have known =D

nice find...

Sexy...I'd get one...but i am saving up for a quad sli desktop..and im already gonna get a m5700 soon...So no point really. But it will be a sweet notebook
post #27 of 75
Looks sweet! that will be the X2 AMD Turion64 right?

but... even with that, i'm seeing processor lock, now why wont they make this in their desktop processor notebooks =)

SLI was only on the go 7800 or can you get SLI in 7800GTX
post #28 of 75
sweet.
post #29 of 75

That could be a great DRS, but the limitations are a little too apparent. Only game performance will tell.
post #30 of 75
still i was told from the current aurora m7700 maxed out will be faster than this maxed b/c of there being no desktop processor but i am sure in 1-2 years for sure!!! but as long as i am playing bf2 with max settings and getting at the lowest 50 fps and highest 100 i think i will be happy for a while esp considering the ability to upgrade at least the gpu to lets say a go 7900 gtx which should be out i hope within a month or so!!!! plus my 1920/1200 screen cannot be beat by any laptop i have ever layed eyes on fo sho!!!!!

Yeah... does anyone have an idea why they dont run a desktop procesor like the 7700's have? With all that graphics capacity, why limit its potential with a AMD Turion when there is already the ability to put a desktop CPU in laptops? =/
post #32 of 75
I'm geussing they had to trade something off for the extra drain on the power supply with the SLI dual cards. Probably couldn't handle supplying the juice for both a desktop proc and the dual configuration at the same time.

Lol. Honestly I dont worry about battery life on my laptop. I dont expect it to last more than an hour or so, to me its basically a temporary power supply to move between outlets
post #34 of 75
Yeah, when people talk about the configuration I'm getting I always point out the 45 min battery life =). I intend to be plugged in at all times, they even have plugs on the seat arms on planes now, so that should be groovy.

Eh, Turions? Isn't M better?

It's got less processor power, and 19" screen!? That's too damn big!

AMD ='s Turion

Intel ='s Pentium M

Pentium M's can't support SLI.

And those plugs in airplane seats don't supply 220W power, so no go.
post #38 of 75
But besides that, M is better for mobile, correct?

yes they dont give 220w. but thats why your power supply can handle different power amounts as long as a base is there, as for intel pentium m's there is no reason they cant support sli, nothign about them makes them incapable as a processor.
