Question about blue screen of death and new burner..

Got a ND-6750A a couple weeks ago and ever since then I have been getting blue screens off and on when I load windows. It only happens when windows is loading and I would say it happens 1/15 loads so not often but often enough to make me wonder what I could do to fix things.

I did try and reinstall windows but dont think it helped

get the stop code and post it here. look in your event logs and it should be in there.

I just got the same burner, no problems

I run XP SP2 (fresh install), driver for the burner is:

(control panel, device manager, hardware, properties of dvd drive)

5.1.2535.0 dated 7/1/2001 from microsoft (windows std driver)

and the burner firmware is:

2.01

* if it is the burner, electronics sometimes does fail, RMA it, the model is superb, good luck

Not sure what the firmware version is or how to find that out but here is what I see in event viewer that I think is for the blue screens...

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
PCIIde

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Wow, I am seeing another problem that I seem to have though. The HD must need to be replaced cause I see tons and tons of these errors...

The device, \Device\Harddisk0\D, has a bad block.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Run CHKDSK /r /f if possible. You can get a detailed amount of bad sectors in Event Viewer this way.
