Has anyone seen bench marks for this card? I see people are pissed off about it being in the 9400 but is it really that bad of a card. I can't seem to find any benches to really tell.

Ok I found this. The numbers on the left side of the / are the 7800 and the ones on the right are the x1400 128meg. The 7800 is faster but not like someone said 3 times faster. Am I not seeing something here.

2092 3D Marks

is that for real ? my 128M x300 got around 1800-1900 ....
I'm now 99% sure to skip 6400.....

Wow, that's pretty... slow. I'm sure it'd would be "OK" for some games, but it's nowhere near the same class as the 7800Go. Bad times coming for the E1705 regarding sales to gamers.

Isn't the X1400 come in the 256mb now...would the extra 128mb make any difference? Becusue from the test I see it's a X1400 128mb

its 256 because of "hyper memory" or whatever, that means that its shared memory from the system. Im not sure how much is dedicated.

Hey all

I had a Tochiba Satelite A100 JH2 for a couple days. It had 128 MB X1600, and the funniest thing was. Everywhere you go to buy this, its listed as having a X1400. I called Toshiba to find out for sure and they argue that it has the X1400. Anyway it has an X1600 for sure, 100 %. I killed a few process's shutdown some bloatware and ran 3dmark05, it benched 2789 3D Marks, however, while running WoW on it I had artifacting all over the place. It was running the factory installed cat driver. Not O/Ced. I run a ATI X800 in my Desktop XPS and have never had an issue with it. Being a gamer I wouldn't run a X1600 much less a X1400. IMHO.

x1600 is much more of a card than the x1400.

"....GT1 - Return To Proxycon 18.0 FPS 9.7 FPS
GT2 - Firefly Forest 10.8 FPS 5.7 FPS
GT3 - Canyon Flight 18.7 FPS 10.6 FPS "

i see in your test its 2x as fast, but i still say its 3x as better than the x1400. you have to factor in the hypermemory. thats junk.

so i stick by my original post, the 7800go is 3x BETTER than the x1400.
x1400 is really just a small upgrade from the x300, shame really.

I can't believe they switched over from the 7800Go to the x1400. That was a very poor decision from Dell, expecially for gamers who want to buy something for less than $2000 and 8.7lbs (XPS).

Luckily, I ordered this earlier and got it with the 7800Go

glad you got 7800go. they will switch back.

eveyrone is talking about the 7900 in a 9400, but i doubt it. i think the 7800s will be back in 9400 soon, and when xps duo comes out itll get the 7900.

gotta have some seperation (:

oh yea, im sure the 7900 will go nicely into a hacked 9400, just give people some time (;

They still sell the 7800 on the UK site...

According to one person (who seems to know a lot of inside Dell info), the 7800 wasn't taken out due to supply issues.

It's anyone's guess why they went with the x1400:

1) They're stuck with a bunch of x1400's they gotta put in *something*
2) They're doing something to the 7800's (another heat-pipe would be nice)
3) They've gone strictly with ATI
4) They were bored...

This is also an interesting comment by the same guy over there:

I can't comment, but don't get too bent out of shape on the video card options.
Hopefully that's good news...
